I am a coastal ecologist and policy expert interested in how the world's coastlines are changing. I seek to identify just and equitable strategies for increasing coastal resilience under climate change using methods ranging from remote sensing to social and biological surveys.
I recently launched the Coastal Climate Resilience Lab as an Assistant Professor at the UC Berkeley Department of Environmental Science, Policy, and Management. If you are interested in joining my lab, please find information here! Prior to this role, I served as a Chancellor's Postdoctoral Fellow at the UC Davis Bodega Marine Lab, an Affiliate Scientist at the ASU Center for Global Discovery and Conservation Science, and worked at the US EPA and UN Food and Agriculture Organization.
My research is based on partnerships with community organizations and governments in tropical coral reefs and the California Current. If you are an organization or community group who would like to work together, please get in touch!
